I got the live Fantomas-Melvins from the end of the year (I don’t remember which year) holy shit.

I’ve been listening to Jazz-Fusion lately and I can’t get enough of it, because it’s a territory that’s quite uncomfortable for me, since I’ve never delved into it deeply. Still, I try to learn as much as I can, at least to enrich myself musically. (mission impossible though, but you have to believe it). So many people I know have abandoned heavy sounds after a few years; I can't understand the reason for that, though...

Indeed, it is clear that a person's musical upbringing completely changes them; even if a deathster starts listening to Ten Years After, he will never be able to appreciate them the way someone who grew up on bread and Uriah Heep would (a silly example, but I think it gets the point across). At 10 years old, I listened to Sabbath, Queen, Maiden, Zeppelin, and Van Halen because those were played in the convent (that is, my mother and my aunt), along with various Italian artists. I discovered extreme metal over time, and gradually I came to appreciate the good bands out there (I once thought Morbid Angel sounded just like Cynic—can you believe that?). Time helps, but there remains a permanent foundational framework; if you break free and develop further, that's when things progress. Anyway, even though I now listen to blues and electronic music, I still don't think I feel it the same way I do doom or post-hardcore. I know I'm struggling to explain myself, but I've done my best. :DD

Airone, it must be said that certain artists base their sound philosophy on ā€œbad productionā€ (such as grind or black metal). Most of the time it’s because there simply isn’t money for good productions; in other cases (in the case of sludge bands), the sound benefits from it. In my opinion, considering growled vocals as outdated is just that—an opinion (Meshuggah are excellent examples of modern metal). There are fantastic bands that use the ā€œscraped voiceā€ technique excellently, even alongside rock bases (I’m thinking of Cult Of Luna or the immense, magnificent Will Haven). I repeat, just opinions :D

The other day I spoke with Burzum and he told me he draws inspiration from Stevie Ray Vaughan.

If Tool say they are inspired by Meshuggah, then they are ugly inside. Seriously, they can't afford to say nonsense like that without simultaneously frustrating themselves senseless. If you find the similarities, then I'll leave the site forever; otherwise, what the hell, give me foot massages with mud, okay? It's cool to say "I'm inspired by Meshuggah." Yeah, thanks for nothing. If you tell me it's a matter of respect towards Meshuggah, fine; otherwise, Maynard is an idiot. I get the tours together and all that stuff, but...

Well, I don't like bald Devin anymore, even though the latest Strapping is awesome. I talked to the drummer of the Gorillaz (who is 2 meters tall) and in the end, I playfully headbutted him. Long live England and God save the Queen.

No no, Sarah was there, but she was feeling unwell, she looked all pale… anyway, I'll see them again next week and she'll be stunning and I’ll be able to challenge her man to a team foil duel… and when are they coming to Sardinia? Take that!

Then on Saturday night the Gorilla’s barmaid had a fever, poor thing... that’s why she wasn’t there, SHE DIDN’T WANT ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT… long live England! Instead, Max Recchia was in great shape. Ojm rivalutescion.
