Luigi Pirandello Uno, Nessuno E Centomila

Gadda... One of the most superb and vain authors I have ever read. A writer obsessed with form, a writer who treats writing with the coldness of an engineer that he truly was. A chaotic style full of dialects and specialized jargons (long live the Manzonian norm of the language!). An author who left me nothing inside after reading him except the anxiety of wanting to prove at all costs that I can write.

Pirandello was a playwright, and without a membership card, he couldn't perform. Moreover, although he was an intellectual, indeed an artist, that doesn't mean he was also a heart of a lion. Or perhaps he truly appreciated fascism. A morally questionable choice, but artistic quality transcends ideologies, no matter how much I dislike Pirandello. D'Annunzio was a madman in the good sense, a narcissist, an aesthete who made his life a work of art, even throwing himself into crazy ventures (the flight over Vienna, the seizure of Fiume followed by Mussolini's subsequent exile,...). I definitely prefer him to Pirandello because I can't stand writers obsessed with the squalor of contemporary life. Art should transfigure reality, not represent it in all its ugliness. Yes, I am from the decadent school, and I really can’t read much of the twentieth century...

Pirandello was a fascist like almost everyone else, meaning that without a party card he couldn't work.
Lady GaGa The Fame

Between this album and Britney Spears's last one, there is no difference, except for the fact that Lady Gaga has at least some vocal ability. The same heavy use of electronics and the same R&B nuances. Moreover, the lyrics are not just frivolous, but empty (perhaps deliberately), like the most polished jet-set lifestyle.

It's funny how these country singers ooze testosterone yet at the same time write songs that border on the mushy.

Beautiful album. The blend of rock, electronics, and ambient sounds is perfect!

I really don’t understand these negative reviews written to reaffirm one’s intellectual “superiority.” If you really want to criticize a product, do it properly. If, however, you feel the need to distance yourself from “massified” tastes, maybe it’s better to consult a therapist to address your self-esteem issues.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Le Petit Prince (Il Piccolo Principe)

It must surely be a remarkable book, but personally, I find it irritating. All those good feelings deeply disgust me, and I can't stand the forced naivety of certain adult writers.

Slow, yet strangely captivating, not so much for the highly diluted melody, but for the atmosphere and the sounds themselves.
Mina Sulla Tua Bocca Lo Dirò
Voto:
Great voice but honestly I don't like it. She always sings a bit bored, as if it annoys her. Moreover, as she herself says that she's never taken singing lessons, her voice is not perfectly tamed, a bit hysterical, and sometimes seems on the verge of going out of tune. Finally, she lacks the ability to dare and to truly experiment, unlike Patty Pravo, whose voice is less powerful but definitely more evocative. I don’t even appreciate when Mina ventures into classical music, as she did with her sacred music album. The adaptation of "nessun dorma" is academic and lacking in nerve, and pales in comparison to other female interpretations, like that of Sarah Brightman.
