Tori Amos Abnormally Attracted to Sin
Voto:
I was a bit disappointed with this album. Musically, it is similar to The Beekeeper, soft and multifaceted, but I think it turned out worse. Too many keyboards, tacky and cloying arrangements. The Beekeeper was more balanced, even though it was quite wordy. I really wish Tori would release an album with just piano. Songs like the b-side "Apollo's frock" are far superior to the tracks on this album.

But the CD hasn't been released yet. Maybe it will come out tomorrow or at the latest Friday. Anyway, since Scarlet's Walk, Tori seems to consistently opt for lengthy albums. However, SW was very cohesive, well-crafted, and rooted in an engaging concept. Beekeeper and American Doll Posse could have been trimmed by a few songs, especially the former, without suffering any damage; in fact, they would have gained a bit of quality. In short, I fear that the risk of boredom after 50 minutes of listening is high. Even Boys for Pele, in my opinion, was a bit difficult to digest.

I adore this album with all my heart.
Pier Paolo Pasolini Salò o Le 120 Giornate Di Sodoma
Voto:
A bloody, brutal film that perfectly depicts absolute evil against the backdrop of the Republic of Salò. A most unpleasant film, deliberately so, and hard to digest, yet hypnotic and never boring. Chilling is the scene with the unloaded gun and the ensuing line, "Non sai che noi vorremmo ucciderti mille volte, fino ai limiti dell'eternità, se l'eternità potesse avere dei limiti?"

Metal in French? Finally, I had been looking for a metal band from across the Alps that didn't sing in English for a long time.

Curious, I bought it on eBay. Really an interesting album. The Russian language, among other things, blends perfectly with this kind of gothic metal, having a very melancholic cadence. And it works well even with the growl vocals.

Jane Eyre, subpar...Mmh, a review is needed.

Great review, but the book didn't excite me. The part about Katy and Heathcliff’s childhood and adolescence is very beautiful, but when the other generations come into play, in my humble opinion, it loses its luster. I read it out of curiosity from Kate Bush's song. I still prefer Charlotte and her magnificent Jane Eyre.

Cute. The sounds from Atari consoles make their music feel quite melancholic. Still, they have rhythm, and some tracks are definitely danceable. I'm not sure how "genuinely" the last track is played. At one point, there's a sharp cut, as if transitioning from one segment to another when the first verse ends. I think it's all pre-recorded and mixed, like many electronic groups with acoustic inserts. I prefer the Cocorosie sisters on the same theme.

This is the album I liked the least. Too synthetic and with some poorly chosen songs. The singer's very evocative voice remains, but above all, it lacks a tear-jerking ballad like in the other albums. Luckily, with "bleed like me," they make a great comeback.
