Abruptum In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo, In Aeternum In Triumpho Tenebraum

The Abruptum....hahahaha!
A caricature of a Black Metal band, which at that time had little originality and even less attitude in doing things.
You are right in the review that the Avant-Garde genre should be done by those who are truly capable of it, and not by these buffoons, the shame of all genres, who deserve to be buried, just because sometimes they are labeled as close relatives of Bork Nagar (those are indeed a step above any Avant-Garde).

I remember this album as one of the best I've ever bought. Perhaps only inferior to "Draconian Times," which remains my all-time favorite when it comes to the band from Halifax.
You're right, my good friend, our tastes have quite a few overlaps, and I’m very pleased about it, especially when it comes to Paradise Lost, who for a certain period were my favorite band above all else.

Eternal Tears Of Sorrow Before The Bleeding Sun

It's true. I didn't like it very much; it's just a matter of taste. I've always preferred "A Virgin and A Whore" over all the other albums. Maybe for you it's the opposite, but, I believe that objectively, the chain of influences that can be perceived (clearly, I mean) in this work, in my opinion, are, as I've written, a bit too blatant, even if I don't mind them. But honestly, if I wanted to listen to a band because it sounds like another, I would certainly seek out the original, not the copy.
Anyway, I don't think I've been too unfair; I'm just saying that perhaps it was reasonable to expect something more and more original, that's all. As for the rest, EToS remains a great band, which yes, I really like a lot.
Shape of Despair Angels of Distress

Maybe it's true. They can seem ultra-depressing and forced, and it happened to me when I was first introduced to them, but that impression faded when I listened to them again.
In the end, I don't think they aim to come off as likable to anyone, do they?

Well, it must be said that their music, just to make a comparison, resembles that of Skpticism in certain ways, with just a few dozen kilometers per hour less in terms of speed. What is particularly striking about this band (whose main composer is the former singer of Amorphis, whose name I can't seem to recall right now) is the sound oppression it brings: incredibly austere, tragic, tinged with pitch. And I don't say that lightly. Anyway, if you find them, and if you like guttural and dark growls, they are for you.

It's true, perhaps, indeed, I have definitely been intrusive, there is no doubt about it.
But, unfortunately, the way I am, if I have an unrestrained passion for certain areas, I can't help it.
I'm sorry, anyway.

I reviewed this "Sodom" because, to my great surprise and disappointment, I couldn't find it and I was sorry that a band not enjoying the same stratospheric following as many others (just mentioning Kreator is enough, and I've already done that) was ignored by most.
As for me, I have nothing to add to what has already been written, just perhaps a correction to what was said about the "nostalgic," which, in the end, makes you realize that the adjective is not perfectly qualifying.
Sodom are still Sodom, and even if they don't say anything new, they certainly continue to reinforce their attitude and sincerity, and I hope that in the future they will want to release works like this: seriously, better a hundred albums like these than one more from the new, and utterly deflated, Metallica.
It's a subjective opinion; I don't expect anyone to share it, of course.
Eternal Tears Of Sorrow Chaotic Beauty

First of all, a clarification.
I overlooked the fact that the album includes a cover, specifically "Black Tears" by Edge of Sanity (Dan Swano will never forgive me...), so I apologize, and please don’t consider what one might imagine from the atmosphere that seeps through, because, surely, the original is better than the version done by ETOS, which does not take anything away from the song.
Then, to be honest, yes, this weekend I really had nothing to do, so I started writing reviews for albums that I noticed were not present in the database, and it was a shame not to bring them to everyone's attention, or at least those who appreciate certain musical genres, of course.
Thus, to my great surprise, I found that "Vovin," which might be the most majestic and incredibly rich album by Therion, had not been reviewed by anyone, nor had ETOS, who, from my point of view, deserve much more attention than similar bands. But I certainly don’t want to stir up controversy by saying that this is better than that. Every album carries a sphere of subjectivity that cannot be overlooked, and mine, for the most part, lies entirely with the bands I have reviewed up to now.
Now I would like to finish reviewing the other works of ETOS, and maybe rewrite the one for "Lemuria/SiriusB" by Therion.
We’ll see.

Just mentioning the name Peter Tagtgren gives me goosebumps. I've never seen a musician so dedicated: Hypocrisy, Pain, The Abyss, and before that, Bloodbath. He personally produces and mixes dozens of death and black bands in his studios, writes for specialized fanzines, and appears at countless festivals. But will he have time to rest? "Virus," however, is an outstanding album, a true tank of "Swedish Metal," and if you don’t believe me, just listen to "Scrutinized"; it proves my point.
