Funeral Mist Maranatha

A record with "controcazzi," you say? I trust you, dear Hell, and I'll get it. After all, lately I've been a bit deprived of Black Metal. I hope your recommendation is spot on. Although, to be honest, I have little doubt. A greeting to you.
My Dying Bride For Lies I Sire
Voto:
Overall, dear Hell, I agree with you. I'm listening to the album over and over again, fully aware that, being the Bride, it's a duty to do so, but in the end, very little sticks in my head. Of course, if all the songs had maintained the tone and level of the first three, we would all be here celebrating a masterpiece, but that’s not the case. The first three are good, and so is "Santuario di Sangue," but if I had to give my opinion on, for example, "A Chapter in Loathing," it would bring me a bitterness! But what is this horror? What is this shamelessly ridiculous scream? A disgrace, indeed. Let's hope they do better for the next one.
Candlemass Death Magic Doom
Voto:
I have already accepted the invitation regarding "For Lies I Sire" by My Dying Bride. However, I took a little extra time to consider it, since a Bride album is never "easy." Well, I will write about it now, of course in the review for Hell, which I find to be clear and always well done.
Candlemass Death Magic Doom
Voto:
I must say, dear Kembruck, that I liked the latest "Death Magic Doom" more than "King of the Grey Islands," perhaps because when it was released, I was still getting used to Messiah Marcolin's timbre, and maybe there was a bit of uncertainty. Now, Candlemass has shown that even without the charismatic singer, they can perform excellently, because the replacement is merely "different," neither better nor worse. Strong also in the fact that Messiah does not belong to Candlemass, as for example Bruce Dickinson belongs to Iron Maiden. As for the songs, my two favorites are definitely "Hammer of Doom" and "Clouds of Dementia," without taking anything away, of course, from all the others. Listening to the "Sabbathian" echoes and enjoying them is just beautiful. Have a good day, everyone.

First of all, I have to thank those who welcomed me back: Hell, Fjell, Super, and Ale. Actually, I haven't disappeared; I've just had a lot on my plate.
As for the album I reviewed, I must say it immediately captivated me as soon as it arrived at my home, and so, I didn’t think twice about writing about it. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.
I also thank everyone else for the positive comments. However, I can't help but think of those who suggested listening to Black Sabbath before diving into the Doom universe; I wonder: why? Is there anyone in the world who loves Metal and is already into any genre of it, who has never listened to Black Sabbath before any other genre? If there is, then it means I’m really getting old to understand the world. Thanks anyway.
Amon Amarth Twilight Of The Thunder God
Voto:
Dear Proscriptor, I respond to your legitimate question. How do I define Amon Amarth as Viking? It's very simple! Because every now and then I also read their lyrics, in addition to listening to "only" their music! According to your axiom, then, Borknagar shouldn't be considered either, or am I wrong? And what do you mean by "something else"?
Now, on a second note. Apparently, my "sarcastic humor" at the beginning of the review, which I used just to poke fun at some commentators from another review of the same group, was taken "literally." So, another question comes to mind, especially for Girasole; do you have an overall view of the lyrics and thoughts of the writer, or can't you see beyond your nose? It would be, according to this axiom, like seeing an SUV climbing K2 and loudly claiming: "But that's ridiculous! An SUV can't do things like that!" Don’t you think that anyone who hears you at that moment would just have a good laugh? I believe so. Thank you all, anyway.

Bonny, go to this address: equilibrium sagas - Articoli e post su equilibrium sagas trovati nei migliori blog It's my blog. At the end of the review I post every time I publish here, there are links to listen to (almost) all the tracks of the album in full. To everyone else: thank you for your appreciation and support.
Samael Solar Soul
Voto:
I still prefer "Reign of Light" to this, although I must say that the originality of Samael has always been, for me, a topic beyond discussion. It's likely that I didn't pay much attention to this "Solar Soul," but with the previous albums, I found myself trapped in no time (Eternal aside, of course). This has happened since I first got to know them and started to love them back in the days of "Ceremony of...," so let’s hope the next one will definitely have an impact. Best regards, my friend. Congratulations on the review.
Esoteric The Pernicious Enigma (disc 1)
Voto:
Long and intricate, with a prologue that needs to be reread more than once to fully grasp it. Good job, even if I have my doubts. I remember listening to the album during the period when "Funeral Doom" was most intense for me. Atmospherically, it has always made me think of a landscape populated only by glowing ash and nothing else. Thank you for reviving those feelings, then. Best regards.
Therion Secret Of The Runes
Voto:
I must tell the truth, my dear friend. When I decided to review Therion, I did so with the understanding that I would never end up writing about this album. Then, hesitantly, over time, I may have changed my mind, but right now I am glad I never wrote about it. The reason is simple: I have never liked this album because I have always found it "dry" in a certain sense. We are still talking about Therion, but that doesn’t prevent me from saying that "Secret of the Runes" is, as far as I’m concerned, perhaps the worst album in their discography. But don’t be bored or discouraged by my possibly harsh judgment. The essential thing is that YOU like it, and it shows in the passion you put into writing about it. Congratulations on that, then. As for me, like my friend Foreveryoung, I will go back to listening to "Vovin". See you soon.
