Many criticize you but: 1) you write well; 2) you have good taste.

Good review. The album is so-so in my opinion, better than the first and Toys. But the cover of Train is beautiful...

Alright guys, it’s not like we can list all the geniuses of Italian cinema: what about Pietrangeli? And Scola? And Rossellini? Don’t dissect every line of the reviews otherwise we’ll never finish ;)

@Ghemison: I write my reviews spontaneously, so it can happen. The most serious omission, which you didn't notice, is that of Francesco Rosi. I will make it up.

Well... to appease myself, I give this film a 3.5 - inferior to other works by Fellini (8½, Casanova, etc.) ;)

@happy: thanks for the compliments. Ania Pieroni can also be seen in Tenebre... maybe her presence was functional to the financing of the films?!?!

@lord: I have always appreciated your comments, but today they seem a bit hasty. Unfortunately, I write and think as you see, so sometimes with complicated sentences - but this does not depend on my educational background or my job. A storyteller is someone who "tells stories," sometimes even artificially, which we can certainly say about Fellini; Kubrick started as a photographer, even for "Life," and only later moved to cinema, always emphasizing technique over narration. Anyway, these are personal opinions, come on (and certainly not influenced by the internet), that do not deserve such controversy.

@Lord: the film was "released" in January 1980, so it was "filmed" in 1979. Trust me, it was a box office flop compared to Argento's previous films. Trust me.

Thank you for the superfkangaroo defense. Beyond the controversies, it's disappointing to observe how, even in a free and non-professional space like this site, there is excessive zeal in defending one's views uncritically. It seems to me that I have always expressed my point of view with balance, which is why it saddens me to see how passionately people argue for a 3/5 for Amarcord and a 5/5 for this film, the outcome of subjective evaluations, considering that in cinematic and musical tastes, the objective—if it exists—is certainly not within the reach of an amateur reviewer.
