Mono Hymn To The Immortal Wind

Boring. If they had made it twenty minutes shorter, it would have been a 3. If they had gone back to "Under The Pipal Tree," it would have been a solid 4. If they had never recorded it, a flat 5.

Thanks for the insights! So: just the mention of CAZ's intervention, but I strongly disagree when you cite Spruance and his Secret Chiefs 3, which are not at all akin to the sound of Yakuza, who are, instead, comparable in certain passages to maudlin of the Well - as I stated in my review. As for Franci, Cynic has nothing to do with this: here it hits much harder, and the music, in my opinion, is significantly better. There are certainly too many albums where metal is mixed (and I know more than one), but few are truly worthwhile. I repeat, for me Yakuza and maudlin of the Well, within the more "experimental" realm, are unmatched names. Trash like UneXpect, Spiral Architect, and similar acts are largely forgettable. For Michoos, no Zu here. For Voodoo, the metalcore influences are clearly noticeable in "Amount To Nothing" and, from here on, it drops dramatically, being replaced by death, grind (a little), and above all, a doom-prog hybrid. What I wanted to emphasize is the importance of the jazz component, which is not just added "for the sake of it" but is an integral part of the pieces' structure - for this reason, Ale, I didn't use the overly generic "avantgarde", which wouldn't fit the band and frankly, seems the most common term of all. Give it a listen, they truly deserve it.
Elio Petri Indagine Su Un Cittadino Al Di Sopra Di Ogni Sospetto

More relevant than ever, Volontè and his unmatched company. Elio Petri truly understood everything. And rereading the political history of Italy from the protest onwards, with the shocking scene of the final acquittal in mind, brings a bitter grimace to the lips that is not a sneer and is more than a smile: the sour expression of one who knows they are defeated.

Between us, darling, instead of spending your days in here writing about things you don't know, in genres you've never heard of, and even pretending to be right, why not start jotting down these names that have been mentioned and informed? If anything, there's always The Scream by Munch to review.

Pure jazz records have nothing to do with hardcore? Oh really? What about "Double Nickels On The Dime"? And Naked City? And Behold... The Arctopus? And Dysrhythmia? You really smell like a loser, you know that?

I'm going to see them on Sunday along with Elettrofandango and MoRkObOt, but I've already heard a little bit of the new album: less intense and more singer-songwriter style. Not bad. That said, know that there's no turning back, that much is certain!
