Well done Borrito, great recovery.
Immense band. I also recommend checking out Califone.
The album is fabulous at times, while at others it leaves something to be desired, but overall it’s excellent.
Tim Rutili is a genius.

Braco silian, commendable recovery of a stunning album, too often forgotten. You're a little too didactic; there's no need to describe every second of a record :), but you don't write badly. The album is fantastic, personally maybe among my 25-30 favorite rock albums of all time. Masterpiece.
Franco Battiato Il Vuoto

primiballi, but La Voce Del Padrone is definitely commercial, it’s a magnificent pop album. There’s pop and pop, and the one from VOCE is top-class pop.

A disc for Battiato fans. It adds little or nothing to his career, but it is certainly pleasant.

The review isn't terrible, but it doesn't accurately describe the influences of the album. Let’s clarify that Doves are one of the most interesting pop-rock bands of the decade (an opinion also shared by Il Mucchio), and even when they draw inspiration from others, they manage to remain quite original.
The album opens, more with a motorik-kraut stride than an electro-rock gallop. There are industrial shades, Pixies-style riffs, and nods to Blondie. It takes a while to get into it; it's as if the melodies, the heart of the tracks, are covered by a crust (it's very arranged) that you need to break through first to understand what this work offers. Then it’s easy for love to click.
The single is excellent (the influence of Morricone is evident), and 10.03 may be the best track, with the two concluding pieces being lovely. All the tracks are nice, except for, in my opinion, Birds Flew Backwards (perhaps the only filler, a bit boring) and Spellbound (potentially good, but too long and becomes repetitive).

The psychedelic quality of this record is often overlooked. If listened to alone in peace, with the volume turned up high, it’s quite a journey. A 4.5. One of Franco's top 5.

The review could have been better.
A tremendous artist, one of the best in the Italian scene.
The album is teeming with ideas, and some lyrics are unforgettable.
Like Battiato (although with a very different language and, above all, aesthetics),
he manages to combine the high with the mundane, to be both cultured and popular at the same time, carefree and deep.
Some tracks don’t convince me much, but the majority are good.
It’s not an album for narrow-minded rockers, but for those who have a broader view of music
and can recognize talent when it’s there, and Caparezza has talent to spare.
Randy California Kapt. Kopter and The (Fabulous) Twirly Birds

It should be noted that, contrary to popular belief, the fantastic Spirit of the first four albums is more the band of Jay Ferguson than of California. It is Ferguson who wrote most of the more interesting tracks. Of course, Randy also had some great moments, in addition to shaping the sound with his guitar style, but the brightest ideas came from Ferguson. It’s true that they tended to work as a team, but the most inspired member was Ferguson.

Oh, Ave MisterOmniscience. What I have said, many others will have said as well, but perhaps not in relation to the theme being discussed here. You have immediately shackled my thoughts to what you already know, from others, because you have no respect for the critical spirit of people and you even malign their capacity to formulate personal thoughts. Being a pompous little man who flaunts his culture, you interpret what others say through the lens of your attitude. Fortunately, not everyone is like you. The true ignorant one is you. It seems to me that a certain Socrates has taught the world that true knowledge comes through humility. Your arrogance is the enemy of knowledge. I am well aware that there are infinitely more things I must know than those I do not know, and I hope to make good use of the time this life will give me to expand my cultural baggage. Ah, anyway, I wonder if all this culture is truly useful to you in light of the reasoning you present.
