maybe if you can avoid the review of no prayer it would be better: every time I listen to it I feel sick remembering the production by the good steve...
For all Rivoli fans, here's the link to one of his videos on Youtube:

Great review, I liked it. I've watched and worn out the DVD a long time ago: it’s very well made and packed with content, definitely an excellent product for all fans. However, at this point a "but" arises: what about all the material related to somewhere in time and 7th son? Since they perform songs from both albums live, I thought there would be a discussion about them in LAD. So, what can we expect in chapter 3 of the Maiden story? The reissue of the live show in Oxford from '89? (the VHS was called infinite dreams). Or the Monsters of Rock from '88? And with the documentary, are we just skipping over the whole period from '86 to '88? Who knows... after all, these are just fan deliriums, it seems pretty clear to me. Regarding Rivoli, only two words come to mind: HUMAN CASE... he he he...

to be honest, I feel sorry for you—no, actually, I feel a lot of tenderness: thinking about it, at your age, it’s probably normal to have certain attitudes; we’ve all been there a bit. But you literally seem like a desperate case, so why not take advantage and go to Aspromonte (since Alaska is a bit far away) to die of hunger and cold? Maybe you’ll get lucky and become famous...
As for the movie (which I finally watched), I have to say it’s really beautiful and poetic, but I found the underlying message a bit clichéd and superficial, especially since it’s being pontificated by someone like Sean Penn.

Do you live off lists, statistical data, and cinema yearbooks? Half of the films you've mentioned are pretty mediocre, come on...

you're a bit over the top, even though you're right when you say that the Oscar doesn't mean quality. And not all the films you mentioned are superior to Mediterraneo, and there are definitely other ones to mention that you haven't listed. In short, your list seems a bit of a "cazzata" to me... always without wanting to offend anyone, of course.

let's avoid turning a discussion about a movie into a political history forum at the bar, please...

I totally agree with the joke, but the point is different: Mediterranean is not a war film! It’s not about humanizing war; it’s about exploring other themes: the sense of defeat, the meaning and value of friendship, reclaiming lost time, escape, love, the dream of the American endless summer... It may also be a film that exploits easy emotions, and it may be a technically modest film like the cast (which, however, performs at its best here)—I can agree on that, but it remains a beautiful film. Critiques of this kind seem misleading and a bit preconceived to me, that’s all.

a couple of clarifications:
@tom traubert
Puerto Escondido has nothing to do with the trilogy of escape represented by Tourné, Marrakech Express, and Mediterraneo. Puerto Escondido is just the worn-out and clichéd degeneration of the theme of escape.
@poletti and gray velvet
this is not at all a film for kids, but quite the opposite: my impression is that your harsh criticisms stem from a childish view of the film, which is something entirely different. then, for goodness' sake, the world is beautiful because it's varied...
