@LaRock
attention, I want to review the CD of the soundtrack from the original Lupin series, which would be a perfect soundtrack for a movie like Pulp Fiction (and in fact, I believe Tarantino was inspired by many atmospheres from the very first Lupin). The legendary waltz by Castellina Pasi is a historic piece, but it's something else...

One moment, one moment: I see that the discussion has turned to cartoon themes, so a clarification must be made. The definitive themes, the ones that truly represent little masterpieces of 20th-century poetry, are Pinocchio (and I’m talking about "naso di legno, cuore di stagno, burattino...") and Il Fantastico Mondo di Paul. Then there are many more to remember, from Doraemon to Bem, from Carletto to Ken il Guerriero, but I believe the first two I mentioned really represent the peak. Outside of competition, of course, are the two historic themes of Lupin III: Planet O and the waltz (chilosachefacciahachisachiè...). As soon as I find a bit of time, I will also review the soundtrack of the first edition of Lupin III, a truly brilliant album!

Horrible film. I followed the Chikatilo case in detail and I expected something completely different. The director's reconstruction is almost entirely made up, and overall, the film is completely lacking in rhythm and credibility. If it weren't for McDowell, it would truly be one of the biggest piles of crap in recent years! But how could it please you?!?!?! I don’t get it...

I saw it at the cinema when it was released in Spain. At the time, it seemed to me like a mediocre film; it would be interesting to watch it again now.

It's not a masterpiece, you're absolutely right. The scene where Bardem looks at his shoes to see if they've gotten stained with blood after killing the girl post-funeral is beautiful. For the rest, there's a lot of mannerism: the Coens tend to play a bit too much at being the Coens.

I saw it many years ago, if I remember correctly even in the afternoon on La7 (or TMC, of course) or Rete4... I have a vague memory of it, but at the time I liked it. I don't agree when you say it's the "best performance by Brando ever," although Marlon does act divinely here. Great review nonetheless.

Listening to this disk again today is surprising: it was very, very rock for a mainstream product of the '80s. This should make us realize that rock was much more widespread and popular, at least in terms of perception, than one might think.
