Charles Bukowski Post Office
Voto:
One of my favorites by Bukowski.
Arthur Conan Doyle Il Mastino dei Baskerville

I have always regarded it more as a horror than a thriller. Some pages are stunning, depicting fear with splashes of color that hit you in the face. Others, however, have aged poorly, but they remain pleasing nonetheless.
Tommy Bolin Private Eyes
Voto:
Bolin's sound has always made me think of a melancholic beach at sunset. He was a formidable and, in many ways, inimitable guitarist, overshadowed by the constant comparison to Ritchie Blackmore.
He should probably be listened to and evaluated for what he was, without comparisons that can be ultimately irrelevant (though I fully realize that they are unavoidable).
Some live performances of Purple with Bolin are wonderful (like the stunning CTTB), while others are downright awful. Let’s just say that back in those days, Bolin wasn't the only one in the Purple to indulge heavily in various drugs and alcohol...
Werner Herzog Grizzly Man
Voto:
It should be specified that we are talking about a film and not a documentary; I believe that the vision proposed by Herzog is as neutral and amoral as one could imagine, just like in almost all of his films. The phrase that closes the film encapsulates its entire meaning, which is why I found the review rather off the mark.
Silvano Agosti Il giardino delle Delizie

The "i" that became "o" is a typo... sorry... Agosti's luck was being rediscovered by Fabio Volo, which gave him great popularity. Then again, he might be a good-for-nothing, as you say; in fact, I wrote in my comment that he always seemed to me like a rich kid. And I’m convinced that there’s a big difference between talking about certain topics and actually dealing with them and living them firsthand. I've always found "gurus" like Agosti a bit annoying, but maybe that's just me, who knows...
And please don’t mention the various Muccino and Infascelli because it makes my stomach hurt... :D

August has always seemed to me like the classic privileged daddy's boy who shoots off opinions left and right without ever having faced the real world.
But this is just my impression, of course, worth what it's worth...
Pupi Avati Regalo di Natale

A beautiful and melancholy film, at times it touches on poetry.

This expectation of "turning off your brain," "well-made American movies but without content," etc., always irritates me a bit. I don't understand why people insist on criticizing a movie for what it "isn't": can someone explain to me what sense that makes? It has always seemed to me like a stupidly ideological attitude. I went to the movies and had fun, period.
I would like to add a note about Scarlett Johansson: I have rarely seen a more useless, overrated, one-expression actress with a dazed look on her face: oh well...

Deep Purple Destroyed The Arena Budokan

Good live, although during that tour there were other memorable moments. As for When A Blind Man Cries, it's a real mystery: in theory, the song was supposed to be included in Machine Head, but Blackmore insisted that if they put it on the album, he would leave. As it turned out, the song was only performed live from December '93 onward, which is to say, since Ritchie officially left the band. What can you do, Blackmore is the greatest guitar genius after Jimi Hendrix, but when it comes to everything else, he's a real jerk; he's proven it countless times... Just think if When A Blind Man Cries had been included in Machine Head—what an album it would have been! Even as it is, it's a masterpiece...
