This album might undoubtedly not be to everyone's taste... music is not a cold, calculated affair... it can resonate or not... for example, I really like Baustelle... the lyrics, the melodies... it all works... come on, who's not going to sing in the shower? Sea song?... to anyone who doesn't like this album, I can't say "you're an idiot"... but if the criticisms of the album don't make sense, then it's normal for me to get angry!

Lux, what can I say, you're just out of your mind... what can I say... for sure last night at Palalive in Bitritto it didn't feel like we were in Sanremo!!!!

You see, everyone knows Sonic Youth... and in my opinion, Mission of Burma are much better!!! Go listen to Exposure by Fripp then, and we can talk about music!!! Wow, I’m falling into citationism just like you... no no, let’s listen to "i milanesi ammazzano il sabato," which is a new album, full of meanings, beautiful lyrics, music (and especially sounds) that are very refined... but, above all, an album of EMOTIONS!!! Because music is also and above all EMOTION!!!

But then you are really idiots!!! So... I bought Octavarium, I put it on, and after the first listen, I took it and put it away, furious and wanting to beat my dear DT... but I had this mental idea: "This album is Octavarium plus seven fillers"... after a year I took the album again, put it on while smirking "I wonder how crap those fillers are," and instead I realized that the songs are beautiful... Panic Attack gets me pumped up... I quite like I Walk Beside You... a nice pop piece by an author... and in the end, after a year, I realized what Octavarium really is... a masterpiece (the title track) plus seven really good pieces balancing pop, rock, and prog... if I compare it with I&W there's no comparison... but if I compare I&W with Exposure or Discipline, there's no comparison either!!!! And, for the record, the songs from Octavarium work brilliantly live!

Dude, this album is AMAZING, that was my answer to your "Chinaski, with your useless posts you're confirming the point: this album sucks" ...and I mentioned Mayhem just like I could have mentioned Mino Reitano, just to name someone...back off, man, you're really not doing well...and by the way, there’s no rule that says you have to listen to Husker Du to listen to Afterhours!!!! Go blast Zen Arcade or Little Red Record and stop being a drag!

I just read the review of Systematic Chaos by Lux... and of course, it couldn’t be any other way... he panned the album... probably because it wasn’t Images & Words... and in the first few lines he was talking about Pere Ubu and Dinosaur Jr... Lux, man, listen to me, calm down and get off your high horse... I’m telling you this as someone who has listened to billions of records... you can never know everything... and one shouldn’t get stuck or rigid... a guy I know only listens to Bob Dylan... but he’s consistent... he says "I don’t like music, I like Bob!"... so, if you want to listen to your bands, go ahead... if you feel like exchanging opinions, come here and talk, but don’t spout nonsense... you’re a poor man’s Scaruffi... and I’m saying this as someone who really respects Scaruffi, despite certain positions I completely disagree with... I’m not treating you this way because you think differently from me, just to be clear... I’m insulting you because you’re a cheap provocateur... tell me, where is a piece like Tarantella all'inazione copied or anything else?... do Dinosaur Jr happen to have Apulian origins????? Come on, a little seriousness!!! Anyway, for the record, I reassessed Octavarium because I listened to it without mental inertia... it’s not a masterpiece (except for the title track, which is out of this world), but there are some really nice pieces... not by chance, Scaruffi gives it a 6!

But what do you think, you inflated idea of your pathetic musical culture... why don’t you take off? This album is AMAZING!!!! Only you consider it crap, but maybe that’s because you use yourself as a measuring stick... I insult you because you’re an idiot, you say bullshit and you get all puffed up... if you want to talk about Zen Arcade, go post under that album, if you want to talk about Beyond, go post under that album... don’t break my balls here!!! And, to quote you, "shut up because you don't understand a shit"... or when you say it, it’s not considered offensive, and when I say it, it is?

Please, forget about lux, he’s an idiot...stuè, don’t you understand that I’m messing with you about black metal? ... ā€œZappa-style arrangementsā€ didn’t you get it? ... you said this album has Sanremo and Vasco-style arrangements!!! Look, you’re really not doing well... and while we’re at it, go educate yourself on good old Uncle Frank... I’m sure you’ll say that Hot Rats is commercial!!! I repeat, do yourself a favor, watch Rock TV, take a dose of Pino Scotto!!!!!
Anyway, every new album needs to settle a bit... it’s obvious you wrinkle your nose at first... I myself, a fan of Dream Theater, took a year to "understand" Octavarium... when it came out I wanted to throw it out the window... and this is also true for the previous ones... I was wrong to always compare everything to Scenes from a Memory... listen to this latest work by the After, let it grow... behind the more extravagant and energetic facade is a very intimate work, much more than the Piccole Iene (which, for the record, drives me crazy)... I don't want to make the same mistake I did when I first listened to Non è per sempre ... "what the hell is this crap?" ... now I love it!!!!
