I haven’t compared Miles Davis with anyone... I’ve only recommended to Parcondio some records that are way more important, and I stress WAY MORE IMPORTANT, than those of the Dinosauri... considering that the idea "Dinosaur Jr is the top of music" was going around here... anyway, the After are not indie, so I don’t see why this genre should be brought into the discussion!

"Just because he mentioned You're living, do you think he only knows that album? What a fucking presumptuous attitude to cite these records! I bet my balls that you haven't really understood them or that you would grasp a "Bitches Brew" or a "The Black Saint...", assuming you've even listened to them" ---> he’s mentioned that album at least 100 times! The doubt is legitimate... why shouldn't I have understood "Bitches Brew" (which I prefer "In a Silent Way", but that's another story)? And I'm the one who's offensive?

I wasn't talking about the After now, dear Lux, but about Dinosaur Jr., whom you and your buddies made out to be the be-all and end-all of music...you're living a me piace moltissimo, I listen to it constantly but IT'S NOT COMPARABLE to the albums I mentioned above...this goes for the After as well, let that be clear...and, for the record, I am not calling anyone ignorant...at most, it’s an invitation to come down from a few pedestals!

AGAIN WITH THE DINOSAURS!! ENOUGH!!!...but what’s so brilliant about you’re living? I listen to it, sure, I like it a lot, very communicative, full of nice songs but...it’s certainly not an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE...it’s a great punk rock album, in the end...but I’ve heard that Dinosaur Jr can be compared to Zappa!!! that’s PURE MADNESS...Parcondio, now that you’ll hear the Dinosaurs you’ll be very disappointed, they’ve been presented to you as the pinnacle of music, but they’re nothing special, a good band, I like them too but...let’s not exaggerate, okay? (by the way, I missed the live concert in Florence, and I’m still pissed off...and I had already missed the Portishead one...oh well)...Dear Parcondio, if you really want to hear something truly ABSOLUTE start with Exposure by Fripp, Rock Bottom by Wyatt, Discipline by King Crimson, Blonde on Blonde by Dylan, the Koln and the Scala by Jarrett, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, Hot Rats and Uncle Meat by Zappa...then the rest comes naturally...but the dinosaurs can’t enter the Olympus of the ABSOLUTES, even if I like them a lot...and don’t listen to Lux, who only has that album as a benchmark...not even the band...ONLY THAT ALBUM!

In my opinion, DJs are much more comparable to MOBs than to Afterhours!!! It reminds me of that time when a friend of mine, a Dylan fan, responded to my statement that Manuel’s lyrics are genius with "Yeah, and what about Bob Dylan?"... at this point, let’s start comparing... Bob Dylans vs Paolo Conte. Dinosaur Jr vs King Crimson... Robert Fripp vs Keith Jarrett (although here there’s something that connects them also with our beloved Franco Battiato... it’s up to you to figure it out). If you prefer DJs to MOBs, that's fine, for goodness’ sake! But the comparisons on a whim are sad...

Lux, please STOP with Indie and Dinosaurs... Afterhours are not comparable to Dinosaur Jr, they make DIFFERENT music... at most, compare them to Nirvana!... it doesn't really matter but I'm saying it anyway... the arrangement of Electric Barbarella by Duran Duran is spectacular!
