I've always preferred Sepultura to the Soulfly project. Max offers variations of a reheated minestrone even back in the days of Roots (because you could already hear the influences in Chaos AD). It's well known that us human beings are omnivores, so sometimes a minestrone isn't a bad thing. Bye!

Unusually, an album not heard by many as far as I can see. Anyway, I am still in the dark about Mr. Fogarty's solo works that my father adores! Nice review. Happy Easter.

Well, it's a nice and very listenable album. 3.5 (4 is a low average). Maybe your bitterness is due to the fact that you're a fan of My Chemical Romance?

I think they've already made a movie like that (just look at The House of 1000 Corpses with Dr. Satan). Also, there are 6 Saw movies. Which wouldn't be bad. The horror story is often full of sequels (Nightmare, Friday the 13th, The Evil Dead, Hellraiser...), but what is surprising is that the quality drops already by the second installment. In sequel productions, there’s always a decline in quality, but some chapters turn out to be really good (see Nightmare 3). In general, I struggle to find a series as depressing as the sadistic Jigsaw saga. But now we have to take them as they are. Take it or leave it.

Horror is a genre that is much more inflated than others. It follows trends in a way that's more disproportionate than other genres because, having a young audience, it must at all costs maintain the current standards. First, the psychological horrors of the 70s. Then the gory splatter films of the 80s. The teen movies of the 90s. And now this subgenre (with a brief detour of Japanese horror remakes) that neglects story in favor of a more concrete and visceral impact directly to the viewers' stomachs. I see it this way: every "trend" created has had its highs and lows. Since I view horror as an exacerbation of the reality we find ourselves in, I won't deny that the idea of a series of tortures is wrong, but it eventually becomes tiresome (not to mention the production of these films). In a genre like old school splatter, the choice was broader, and the stories were the most varied. They ranged from hell, to zombies, to classic figures of romanticized horror, all the way to new figures like Jason, Freddie, Pinhead... You see, in the end, these are matters of taste. Although the most influential tastes are those of 13/14-year-olds who change the rules of the horror film market.

Great album. However, far from being a masterpiece.

Anyway, for the trash, never say TV was a show you could draw from in abundance!
