    They definitely owe a lot to Mastodon, but Baroness are skilled at personalizing their sound and becoming one of the promising acts in today's metal, the kind that doesn't solidify into the usual trite musical clichés.

Nice! Not the masterpiece that everyone claims it to be (that’s Nightfall), but certainly an original album made by a band that said something new in metal and moved away from the worn-out clichés of power.

A masterpiece! Not everyone can put Tolkien's Silmarillion into music, but they manage to do so without being verbose or clumsy. Truly brilliant in the arrangements and musical taste. An album that heals the soul, as Luca Signorelli stated in the legendary book "Metallus"!
