Here Young doesn't sound that depressed to me. That one is Tonight's for me. Here there's more anger, disgust, and pain. It's intimate and introspective.

For me, On the Beach is the album of resignation, Tonight's the one of pain. "The world is turning, I hope it don't turn away..."

I admit (with "super-depressed") that I've used a somewhat cliché term. I used it not so much to provide a precise definition of Young's work, but to compare it to almost all the other "taken badly" albums, which usually suffer from a lack of sincerity.

ZannaB, I included Radiohead for two reasons: first for their cover of "On the Beach," and then because, in my opinion, they embody, at least in terms of lyrics, the emblem of the "badly taken" in a stylish way.
