Queensrÿche: Empire
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the best albums I've had the pleasure of listening to. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of some tracks; listen to it and listen to it again, it might surprise you. Operation: Mindcrime is obviously another story, but it still remains at extremely high levels.

The lowest point of the golden period. Four wonderful tracks (jet city - empire - anybody listening - silent lucidity), a couple of decent ones (resistance - best I van), the rest is tiresome.

Personally, I can't find a low point in their career until Promised Land; I love all the albums from their debut up to this latest one mentioned.

I agree with Harlan....Promised Land is different but undeniably of the highest level....then you know...fights and jealousies?....meanwhile, one of the best guitarists in the metal scene has ended up becoming a commercial airline pilot....oh well...

In my opinion, it remains the most predictable.
  • It smells of opportunism. The only one in his career to do so. Never loved. Instead, I love, viscerally, "Hear in the Now Frontier." When I saw them live in Florence in 1990, they made a huge impression on me: solid, incredibly powerful, precise, cohesive, very talented.

I really like Hear In The Now Frontier as well, aside from two or three filler tracks, at the time it wasn't fully understood in my opinion.
