Maurizio Bianchi: Cold Tape
File Audio I have it ★★★★
A surprisingly expressive exercise in musique concrete for magnetic tape. An incredibly interesting Italian foray into the realm of sound manipulation and sampling.
Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
A dreamlike journey riding through a thousand intrinsic themes within the musical landscapes birthed by the very young mind of Oldfield, with a freshness not devoid of innocence. Masterpiece

Wonderful album (but Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn are no slouches either...) by an artist who perhaps is rarely talked about in forums and the like.

It would have been absolute perfection if it had removed the rough part with the ogre-like voice attached, which I really don't understand what it has to do with the rest 😂 Other than that, truly, truly beautiful.

But that fragment is stunning. An example of the freedom and the desire to surprise present in this masterpiece, along with the healthy urge to mess around that one can have at 19, come on. Anyway, "Ommadawn" is perhaps even more beautiful...

But it's not bad in itself, you know, it's just that I think with the pastoral atmosphere of the 3/4 of the suite, it fits about as well as cabbage at snack time, like if I were listening to Geese and the Ghost and suddenly a track by Nine Inch Nails started playing lol.
However, it's also fair that in a long suite you experiment with all possible sounds.

Yes, I agree (I'm coming straight from listening). Genius.

(I agree that Ommadawn is slightly cooler I mean)
