Deep Purple: Perfect Strangers
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
For me, after "In Rock" and "Machine Head" (not counting Made in Japan), this is it!

I would definitely put Burn first. A great album of rebirth, unfortunately never again at these levels in the subsequent works...

Well, it's a matter of taste! Burn or Perfect, the choice inevitably falls on these two!

Deep Purple: Purpendicular

The latest noteworthy album from the band! Great tracks, with "Sometimes I Feel Like Screamin" standing out above all.
Deep Purple: Fireball
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Clearly, it's not easy to follow up a masterpiece like "In Rock"... But "Fireball" is still a fantastic album anyway...
Deep Purple: Machine Head
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
This record is terrifying from the Deep Purple.... It contains what is probably the most famous Rock song of all time (at least the riff is the most famous), but for me it’s not the most beautiful song that the Deep have written (I’m obviously talking about Smoke), and even less is it the most beautiful on the album.... Highway Star and Pictures Of Home are tracks that never get boring!!

When I bought it years ago, I thought it was a The Best of because all the tracks are of such a high level... a gem of rock, History.

    The monument is Highway Star.

The album that, among the various gems, contains the most famous riff in rock history. The extraordinary thing is that In Rock is even superior to it...

In Rock is superior to 98% of records in general... At least for me...

Great album but it's not among my favorites, like Deep Purple by the way; I like them but they don't spark that definitive thrill. Excluding (in the studio) "In Rock," for me it's their only masterpiece. Oh, in case you missed the introduction, this is still a great album, wish we had more like this.

This album was also liked by Lester Bangs, who surely appreciated the DP more than Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. You can still find the review he wrote for Rolling Stone online at that time.

It's miraculous the sound they managed to achieve by recording the guitar in the living room and the drums more or less in the bathroom. Not even if they tried again for a thousand years.

bought in Intra on the day it was released in Italy!
Deep Purple: Burn
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Everyone is talking about the "Title track" as the best song on the album (which is totally understandable), but can we talk about "Mistreated"?? A terrifying Blues, with a stunning Coverdale!!

Nice this. I'm not crazily in love with them (except maybe "In Rock") but they definitely put out some cool albums.
  • don't say anything, Mistreated (and in particular the California Jamming version) is one of the peaks of the Purple.

everyone who? I haven't talked about the dippàrpo for years, and fortunately, neither have my friends. rightfully so. let's not generalize, pliiiz.
  • Anyway, Glenn Hughes, although high as a kite, was making a fool of good old Coverdale.
  • This album, as far as I'm concerned, is a total delight. All of it is beautiful if you don't pay attention to a few mediocre lyrics (e.g., You Fool No One). Perfect, there are two completely different voices, both stunning, impossible to compare; the level achieved cannot be the measure of judgment.

The band's latest masterpiece, in my opinion. They've made other great ones, good ones, but none at this level anymore.
Deep Purple: Stormbringer
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Honest album, with some gems and a few underwhelming tracks...

It's strange that the song I like the most ("Soldier of Fortune") by this band (which, by the way, I like very little) belongs to an album unanimously considered inferior...

Well, then the title track for sure...

"Burn" is undoubtedly the best of the Coverdale/Hughes era.

I give the album 4 stars, definitely below Burn but better than Come & Taste the Band. This album suffers from Blackmore's now tired phase, already with his mind elsewhere, but it remains an excellent work for me.

Instead, I consider "Come..." to be superior (if only slightly)... I repeat, just by a hair, but still superior!
Deep Purple: Made In Japan
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Simply the story!!! That's all it takes to describe what is one of the best live performances (if not THE best) ever...
Deep purple: In Rock
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Deep Purple: The Battle Rages On...
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
An album I have always appreciated and considered among the peaks of the band. The title track (riff taken from Fire Dance by Rainbow) is an immense piece, "Solitarie" is a gem... But the best track (not only of the album but of the entire Deep Purple career) is undoubtedly "Anya," a song that literally drives me crazy every time... The rest of the album is excellent...
Def Leppard: Pyromania
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
"Gunter Glieben Glauchen Globen"
Def Leppard: Hysteria
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
If out of 12 tracks at least 10 are potential hits, it means you've pulled a masterpiece out of the hat. "Hysteria" was exactly this!! A total of 7 singles were released from the album, incredible!! Tracks like "Animal," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Love Bites," and "Armageddon It" made the group’s fortune, which had already written memorable songs, but none at this level. In my opinion, the peak of their career is precisely the title track, an immense, unique piece, one of the most beautiful songs I have ever listened to!!

I've never been crazy about the musical genre of Def Leppard; however, this is a hell of an album that I haven't listened to in years. What better occasion to break this sort of fast.

A group that had the potential to kick ass, unfortunately, they too have stooped to chart rock.

disk... back then there was only that and the cassette... it rightfully entered history... setting aside the sales success... it’s really well made and not too overexposed. I still remember the Animal video on TV... for those times 1987-88... an event.

The most beautiful of Ronnie! The title track is legendary: the perfect fusion of everything good he had done with the respective Rainbow and Black Sabbath!
