Megadeth: Youthanasia
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
With Youthanasia, Megadeth demonstrate their ability to produce excellent albums without recycling the formula that brought them success. The Thrash foundation is complemented by influences that even approach Hard Rock and classic Heavy Metal, but the result is much more commendable compared to Countdown to Extinction, thanks to more varied and inspired sections.
Megadeth: Rust In Peace
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
Rust in Peace is the only true masterpiece by Megadeth. An incredibly technical album with exceptional songwriting, filled with never-banal virtuosities (excellent performance by all band members, by the way) accompanied by constantly aggressive rhythms, just as the band had already accustomed us to in previous works. It can be said that Dave has finally managed to reach the level that the much-envied Metallica had achieved with the famous Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.
Metallica: St.Anger
CD Audio I have it ★★
In 2003, Metallica was going through a tough time, and it had been too long since we heard a good album from them. Thus, St. Anger was released, their worst work. After three uninspired yet decent tracks, the rest of the platter is of absolute emptiness, and everything feels even more boring due to the absence of any solos and even less enjoyable because of a recording quality that is at times unacceptable.
