Do you think I like Death? Jokes aside, "Symbolic" is my second favorite album by Death, because above it remains, and will forever remain, "Human"...34 crazy minutes, technically unattainable. Last November, I went to Romagnano Sesia to see Death to All, with Masvidal, Reinert, and DiGiorgio; if you're interested, my concert review has been published on the "Metallus" website. Hehe, for me it's the opposite, Symbolic is the best and Human is second (along with The Sound Of Perseverance). I simply appreciate their works that are even closer to Technical Death Metal more, even if it's hard to make comparisons when talking about masterpieces. I would have liked to go to Romagnano Sesia too, but I had just bought tickets for Lamb of God and I preferred to pass; in any case, I’ll go read your review of the event. I recommend, if you haven't already, to read Schuldiner's bio that just came out under Tsunami Editori, "Death by Metal." It's really well written and full of interesting information that I didn't know.

Interesting reading that I will try to get my hands on. In any case, I don’t throw anything away from Death... I remember back when Spiritual Healing came out, I was one of the few "metalhead" friends who appreciated it right away; when "Human" arrived the following year, you can imagine the bomb effect it had on us poor listeners... there was no internet, just cassette tapes that you might not have even seen.... I saw Chuck live twice.... terrifying...

I used to prefer Symbolic too, but Human is the best, the right balance between what they did before and what came after.
