Pink Floyd: The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
First album by Pink Floyd; 1967; Almost entirely composed by Syd Barrett, and it sounds; A pillar of English Psychedelia.

The true masterpiece of Pink Floyd, this first experience already takes its place in the Olympus of timeless masterpieces; the term "seminal" has never been more appropriate to describe this extraordinary work. For me, "vision and craftsmanship" merge in the most revolutionary work of global psychedelia.

I don’t put Bel on you. Barrett is with two t’s. I don’t know what psychedelia is and you also messed up the grade because it’s 5 :P

I should feel offended, damn it. Forgive my modesty, but the album is a solid 5.

It's just the birth of the greatest group in history... the 5 deserve the albums where Gilmour is holding the guitar... the Barrett album might deserve five, not this one.

"the 5 deserve the albums where Gilmour has the guitar in hand" Sure, sure. Well, you're the usual Pink Floyd funboi who hasn't understood a thing about Pink Floyd. If there's something this album represents the birth of (along with the next one), it's cosmic psychedelia. Those "with Gilmour" on guitar are not the birth of anything and they're even less beautiful. Still beautiful, but less beautiful. And this gets a 5. And come on, use your ears.

And would "Barrett" be better than this? Yeah... and anyway, it was really at their inception that Pink Floyd were something truly GREAT.
