Aki Kaurismäki: L'uomo senza passato
DVD Video I have it ★★★★
A bittersweet fable that denounces the futility of those social structures that can only generate unhappiness, where man, as a subject, becomes an object. Kaurismäki is a Ken Loach without the anger; his characters do not burn down construction sites but resist the distortions thanks to their innocence.

A sound universe that is never trivial, with not a single piece out of place. It's obviously the pinnacle of the group's experience. Too bad about the somewhat hazy lyrics... they're called visionary, but in reality, they're hazy. Gold medal for Hunter and the Hunted.

This is the dance of the quack quack
    For a duckling that knows
How to only quack quack quack + quack quack quack

    :)

No, wait, let’s try this one instead:

    Plato's spawn cold ivyed eyes
Snare truth in bone and globe
    Harlequins coin pointless games
    Sneer jokes in parrot's robe
Two women weep, Dame Scarlet Screen
    Sheds sudden theatre rain,
While dark in dream the Midnight Queen
    Knows every human pain.

Well, Hunter and the Hunted with an intro by Herbie Hancock is really something...
Soundgarden: Superunknown

An album with a compact, monolithic sound where Cornell, Thayil, Shepherd, and Cameron deliver the best of '90s hard rock; obsessive, heavy riffs that are impossible not to get possessed by. A special mention goes to Limo Wreck, which Scaruffi says is copied from Dazed and Confused (ajò, Piero!) but for me, it's an amazing track!

Cornell is fine, but what about Kim Thayil? The only thing I know about him is that he was crazy about kangaroo steaks (preferably rare). Well, if there's chatter that they're about to reunite... (or are they already?)

Already Kim, who in the solo zone started drooling, having seizures and masturbating the guitar, ah ah ah... oh god, even his was a style, after all. Anyway, Cornell solo didn’t come out well either... I hate these bands that break up because the supposed leader is convinced everything is on their shoulders. They do reunite, sure, tour and new album, but I don’t believe they will be able to get back on track. And even if they did, it would sound strange... listen to the latest Alice in Chains, 2009; it’s terrifying... it sounds just like the self-titled from '95, the last with Layne Staley before the incident. I don’t know, it’s like having a beer with a dear friend, only now he’s a zombie and it’s been 15 years since his death.

Hollis begins to pack for Mars. Those who have always loved this band and its eccentric frontman with his unkempt look cheer; finally, the '80s can be shoved up the millions of cans of hairspray used by Simon Le Bon & Co., and those who can't understand it... tough luck.
