Magic Mushroom Band: Process of Illumination
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
25 years after its release, I thank this "aromatic" band and the entire English Neo-Psych scene for paving my artistic path and a lifestyle between a Rock stage and a dance floor. Without Grunge, Stoner, and any Metal, my '90s enlightenment completes its process.

25 years? I was a big fan of the English neo-psych scene; I had a ton of CDs from various Ozric, Mandragora, Poisoned Electric Head, Soma, Delirium Records, and so on. I was just a kid, and to look cool, I used to dig up the most incredible names. Great stuff, the thrill of searching for records, the wait for the mailman. My biggest regret is that I sold so much of that stuff.

Good job. So look for the rare, wonderful 12'' 'Head To Head' by Saqqara Dogs (I've been searching for twenty years, and to think I had it and some jerk stole it from me at a party, I think). It was stunning, it was beautiful. Even the first EP by Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction was no joke, though.

If one day the world were to come to an end, this soundtrack would fade into oblivion as the best available epitaph.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band: The Good Earth

Riffs and solos Hard-Rock, impressive virtuosity on the Moog synthesizer, small collective tour de forces but also finely crafted Pop intuitions, and no cover versions. In 15 years and about fifteen studio albums, the high point is this small patch of good Welsh land, belonging to anyone who bought the vinyl upon its release in 1974.

The Moog makes me drool; it's top-notch stuff.

The host who pulls out the best bottle in the end. The last great album of English Glam Rock.
Michael Schenker Group: MSG

A show quintet that won't last long except for these 8 gems driven by memorable solos from the Mad Axeman and the granite-like Cozy Powell, outstanding in breaks and transitions. Are you ready to rock?
Mick Karn: Titles
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
His debut 30 years ago: Cypriot origins and Middle Eastern effluvia take precedence over pop, with the cameo of SENSITIVE signed by Mikis Teodorakis, if anything, reinforcing the intentions to tread on those territories. An unprecedented use of the bass, ahead of its time, and his winds of a mystical enchanter foreshadow New Age and World Music. It's a shame not to have it in one's collection.

I correct a mistake: the authors of Sensitive are Roberto and Erasmo Carlos. ;-)

Curious, just yesterday I was listening to Sylvian's first album where he features all the Japanese but not himself, yet he practically uses the good Percy Jones as his stand-in on the fretless. I don't have this one, but I'll wonder about it following your advice. :-)

Karn in '84 was engaged with Peter Murphy in Dali's Car, and curiously his last legacy is precisely a return of that exceptional duo, an EP released a few months after his death.
Mike Rutherford: Smallcreep's Day
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
A thank you to Phil Collins' marital storm for giving the good Rutherford time to record this gem and to team up with an Anthony Phillips in a keyboard role. With people like Simon Phillips, Morris Pert, and Noel McCalla, these are the final bursts of a characteristic sound swept away by Abacab. A suite and 5 tracks of excellent Prog, crafted to evoke emotion.
Motorhead: Ace Of Spades

The three smelliest gamblers in rock history, and from the most penetrating snakes...LOVE ME LIKE A REPTILE!!!
