Joni Mitchell: The Hissing Of Summer Lawns
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
How many fabulous pieces: In France They Kiss on Main Street, The Jungle Line, Edith and the Kingpin, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Harry's House. As far as I'm concerned, it's on the podium among Mitchell's most beautiful albums.
Joni Mitchell: Shadows And Light

My vote goes to both the album and the video. It’s among my three favorite live albums. The band accompanying the Divina is top-notch. The versions of 'In France They Kiss On Main Street' and, especially, 'Edith and the Kingpin' are far superior to the studio ones.

I have the double CD version. The nice thing is that there are many tracks from ejira... it's just a pity that some pieces from the concert weren't included. The single CD edition is unnecessary.
  • It seems to me that the album is missing the track with the Pastorius solo. A lack that, I don't want to be blasphemous, but I don't think detracts much from the album; Pastorius has certainly done better.
Joni Mitchell: Blue

I'm one of those who prefer the jazzy Joni, but it's impossible to give less than five to Blue. Her songs are truly like tattoos. They stick with you forever.

Great work by the most talented and beautiful singer-songwriter of the entire '60s-'70s and beyond.

Early, you forget a certain Joan.

Cunnue...Baez? No, with all due respect to the Great Joan, I don't agree if that's who you mean. Mitchell has a singing resume that goes beyond classic American singer-songwriter style. Plus, she was quite the "bonazza."
Joni Mitchell: Court And Spark

It’s incredible what a series of fantastic albums Magnifica managed to produce in the 70s. In my opinion, this is another masterpiece, perhaps just a notch below those from the Jazz period and "Blue," but still superb. There are already the first signs of change, and then there’s “Free Man In Paris,” and just this alone would be enough for a 5 in my book.

This is what I like the most, with "Hejira" almost on par.
