Since many like to label them post-rock (at least in Spiderland), I’ll give my own categorization: this is their noise-math rock album. And "Spiderland" is their slowcore album. Both are masterpieces, both are not objectively perfect as some pretentious people would like to believe, both owe a lot to several records in the indie/alternative scene rather than the other way around; yet both are highly individual and have aged perfectly, if not even not aged at all.
