Phil Collins: Testify
CD Audio I lack ★★
I return with dubious conviction. Pieces that feel old and already heard. One can only hope it’s truly the last.
PHIL COLLINS: ...BUT SERIOUSLY
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Pop here finally of high class, the best production from Collins (which says a lot about the rest). Many beautiful and well-made tracks. But a prog album from Collins we will never have.
Phil Collins: Face Value
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Overrated album by most, only for the presence of a beautiful track like In The Air Tonight. Predominantly pop work, developed only in part for the rest.
Phil Collins: Both Sides
CD Audio I have it ★★
It doesn't leave a mark. Shallow pop.
Placebo: Sleeping With Ghosts
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The second masterpiece. Special Needs and the title track would have fit perfectly in Without You I'm Nothing, Taste in Men showcases how to blend rock (almost punk) with electronics, This Picture is pop with masterful elegance.
Placebo: Black Market Music
CD Audio I have it ★★★
This album lives on highs and lows, with peaks at the level of its predecessor (Slave to the Wage, Every Me/Every You), hints of their future sound (Taste in Men, Special K), and a few too many returns to the sounds of the first album (Black-Eyed).
Placebo: Placebo
CD Audio I have it ★★
They seemed like a post-punk band; luckily, the subsequent albums offered us better.
Placebo: Battle For The Sun
CD Audio I have it ★★★
A sort of return to the past, with results that are only half good. At first listen, it seems boring and in the style of BMM, but then you realize there's a lot to discover. But songs like Ashtray Hearth or For What It's Worth take away the elegance that has always characterized them. Beautiful Kitty Litter.
Placebo: Meds
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Very, very beautiful, although maybe not quite up to the level of the previous one. Here the listening experience is more complex, the tracks more experimental, and in the end, it turns out to be somewhat less smooth in certain parts. With Meds, we return to the sound of WYIN, Infra-Red is still elegantly pop-rock. The closing track is stunningly emotional.
Placebo: Without you I'm Nothing
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The first great masterpiece. The darkest album, the most cohesive, the most akin, the unforgettable one. The title track remains to this day their most beautiful and touching piece. Also very beautiful is the famous Pure Morning.
