Paolo and Francesca teetering between 18th-century melodrama and authentic Italian prog from the '70s. Perhaps a bit naive but magnificently spontaneous and darkly romantic.
excellent musicians, with special mention for the keyboardist, Lupo Galifi (former Museo Rosenbach) on vocals for a beautiful, energetic, and melodic progressive album
Isildurs Bane: MIND, Volume 1

Among the Scandinavian wonders of the last twenty-five years, which are so numerous that it would require a separate debasio, there are those that stand out for their art and originality. This fundamental first step of the "mind" series is an absolute delight from the first to the last note.

Debut album for these good grandchildren of Anekdoten. The blasts of mellotron are definitely there, the Fripp-like guitar too, a nod to Nursery Cryme as well, and the melodic openings are not lacking. A really beautiful album. Unfortunately, the second one will be inferior, and then they disappeared.
Lucio Battisti: Anima Latina
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
1974, Battisti steps out of the boundaries of pop and timidly ventures into the outskirts of the vast universe of progressive. The result is a concept album full of warmth, from the first lights of the city dawn to the sunny afternoons of the Reatina countryside to the sunsets of a Brazilian beach...beautiful from the first to the last note. rating 8

Inspired, magical, beautiful. Together with Bubu by Anabelas and Depois do Fim by Bacamarte, the highest expression of 70s South American prog.

Do you remember the film "Farinelli, Voice of the Queen"? Do you recall those pathetic and somewhat crude melodramas from the mid-eighteenth century featuring a talented and quite hysterical castrato? Here they are.

Beautiful. Wilson's attention to detail makes a very simple skeleton fascinating.
Here the courage is present, the instrumental parts are very good even if a bit naïve, too bad about the lyrics and the singing...
very beautiful

Some time ago, there was a discussion about who, at the tender age, had released an album that truly stood out. Ladies and gentlemen... here he is! Michele Zarrillo, 16 years old! CHAPEAU!

indie folk with remarkable prog nuances. beautiful beautiful.
A beautiful album, symphonic prog with hints of Canterbury, the flaw: a bit of confusion in the overexcited moments (but there are a lot of people playing!)
Tonton Macoute: Tonton Macoute

A good transition album, but I prefer their live sextuple, where the last track is emblematic, as the farts of Korrea's goat rise above the wall of sound, creating a final atmosphere of exhausted romanticism.

Oh, yes, at that concert, on track 6238, remember, there was your killer drum solo played with those apricot jelly tarts, which, ruined, led you to use the rhubarb ones, which caused the fatal overdose, responsible for the arrival of Pana as a soakkaoxsa percussionist, steering the group towards an aor drift (specifically watch out for the rhubarb).

Oh yes, an improvisation with apricot jam that went down in history, forgotten two seconds before it started and which, unfortunately, was the cause of my downfall. It was a great solo, though.

I've never listened to it, but I own the vinyl of Sacred Baboon, a great record and an absolute rarity. I'll be getting this one soon as well. Do you know Caverns Of Your Brain by Lift?

I don't know them, Barra, I've seen that they only made this album in '77.

Like the Urfa, they are a magnificent band of Prog Made in USA; the elusive album is from '74 but only in '90 did Syn-Phonic release it on CD. Perhaps it is still possible to download it for free, even in the most recent expanded version called Moments Of Hearing, a title that can only invite listening, and believe me, it's worth it!

It would be nice to have a discussion about late '70s prog made in the USA, a phenomenon that I still haven't quite grasped, between AOR types like Kansas, heavy ones like Rush, original bands like Pavlov's Dog, Urfa, the Lift you mentioned, or clone groups like Starcastle... a world to discover!

Great topic, and so much little-known music. American Prog is generally snubbed, lacking well-defined scenes and periods like in Europe, where imported products were preferred. Many never got a record deal, and the luckiest struggled quite a bit to avoid the mainstream imposed by record labels. I will see about picking up the discussion again soon with a review.
