A badass album of hard-psychedelic keyboards oriented straight from 1970. Highly recommended!!!

It's a good job even though in many parts it shows the absence of the guitar.

Anima Mundi: The Way
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Third album (2010) for the Cubans Anima Mundi. Hints of "Close to the Edge" for the suite in a symphonic prog predominantly airy, elegiac, and sunny tones. In some cases, it’s a bit redundant, but considering the genre, it's acceptable. An excellent album that is enjoyable and satisfying to listen to. Rating 7.5.

The nocturnal nightmares of an insomniac, raw and sickly atmospheres that will fulfill themselves in the lucid autism of the subsequent vol. II. rating 7
Areknames: Areknamés
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Lately, I've been quite obsessed with this wonderful album: the 2002 debut by Areknames, back when they were still a trio, shows a superior quality. The Van der Graaf references are clear, and I like them so much for that as well. Only four stars because their second album is even better.

Acquaintances of Silas who play music with references to Van Der Graaf Generator? But where are they, in the paradise of listeners?

I know them very well. They are all people who have been playing for years and are involved in various interesting projects, even if obscure. Mino, the drummer, has played with an old friend.

Sure, I highly recommend all three of their albums, they're really beautiful! And then they're friends with Silas, what more could you want?

I was glad to see them on these pages :-) It’s reassuring...

between '70s English prog, Zappa, and Echolyn. A masterpiece.

Cast: Imaginary Window
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
The Genesis on vacation in Baja California? It might sound like the plot of a silly holiday movie! Instead, this Imaginary Window (1999) by the Mexicans Cast is a good album, featuring excellent keyboards, a beautiful Hackett-like guitar, a flute here and there, and decent vocals. Too bad about the production, which slightly holds it back. Rating: 7
The chosen damsel, one of Debussy's early works, inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites, enchants with its enveloping orchestral nuances, an almost Renaissance female chorus, a soprano that anticipates Pelléas. Wonderful.
Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun: an absolute reference in the history of music. A piece of transcendent beauty, sweet yet profoundly deep, superficially grandiose but dense with warm eroticism, the ABC of all modern music. An immense gentle colossus of ten minutes.

2008 album, debut of seven young English lads who blast us with a Crimsonian-Van der Graaf style prog infused with strong psychedelic shades, a Purpleian undertone, and a Sabbathian idea. A really striking experience, right?

Very old-school Psych-Prog, just the way I like it, rare stuff considering 2008 and their young age. Very diversified tracks; I can even see a crossover of Soft Machine/Pink Floyd, especially in the closing piece. Glad I nailed the purchase made sight unseen.

Mmm... The important thing is that they have their own personality in addition to the many, obvious, and necessary inspirations you mentioned. In this case, they seem to be nothing short of stuff for me.

I’ve always liked the word "ragazzotto"; if you pay attention, it contains a bit of gazzosa and a bit of kinotto, along with a hint of beer... in short, we’re doing well with bubbles, aren't we?

What a great album!
Wonderful, whimsical, and moving like a Paradise of lively and hungry children. Mahler narrows the orchestra for once and relies for the last time on the collection of songs from the wonderful horn of the child. What emerges is a MASTERPIECE of humor, grace, and infinite melancholy.
