...when Mozart wrote this mass, he was truly touched by some supernatural entity... Music not only of moving beauty, crystalline and purely childlike, but also of depth, introspection, and mysticism that is hard to match and rivals... it is not foolishness if I say that nowadays it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful Music ever composed on our miserable planet...

    I share this, a superb work. Like the (more) famous requiem, this one also remained unfinished. Herr Mozart was from another planet. I also appreciate your interpretative choice, the gigantic Hogwood, for me, the best.

    j&r, the discussion is very long and complex, I’ll just say that it’s music that requires careful listening to be fully appreciated, and nowadays most people can only pay attention to music for a maximum of 5 minutes (and preferably something with a beat to tap a foot to), and it’s not just the young ones. Certainly, for those who can listen to it in the right ways, it’s a unique pleasure and also allows you to better appreciate the value of other musical genres. I wouldn’t worry if only 10 people are left enjoying great music; it’s not the numbers that determine the quality of something.
