  A doubt arises: why does poor Miles rank behind Trane in the "Greatest Jazz Artist of All Time" list, while here (rightly) he comes before???

  As I wrote to you in the jazz rankings, rankings are just little games... I chose what matters most to me, not necessarily the "best"... for Trane vs. Davis, I included Davis in general music because he contributed more broadly, but Trane in jazz for me is a unique figure. Classical music? I like it, but it's not my genre... my listening habits, given the time, are more absorbed by jazz and rock.

  In my humble opinion, I would have ranked Marley and the Doors dozens of spots lower, given that Barrett and Brian Wilson are included. But thank goodness not all charts are the same.
