THE REVIEW

If the band's name brought to mind certain glorious EPs, I'd say dementia is still a distant problem. I'm sure that no one has taken away from these Eggnogg guys a few too many listens to Lysol and their pals, but fortunately, this zabaione team has managed not to resemble too much the supposed influence.

Bog

A debut that’s less than ten years old, a concentrate of malignant blues with acid and elastic sounds, which does quite well in mixing the difficult with the easy, crafting worthy vocal lines over sometimes almost exhausting riffs. Compositions that land where the tendency to elongate songs has an almost cosmic flavor, which, even when it leaves the sensation of the missing step, makes you fall in slow motion into the valley of mid-tempo, and sometimes even much lower.

Sloath

A river of distortions flows slowly in an euphonic key over evolutionary jams, both in length and width, where I often envisioned a sort of Kyuss immersed in doom proposed by a Melvins feat. Layney Staley combo, somewhat probable yet improbable. Definitely enjoyable on this solitary seasonal change evening, there’s really nothing more to say.

Summary by Bot

Eggnogg's album III delivers a dense mix of malignant blues with acid, elastic sounds. The band skillfully blends challenging riffs with accessible vocal lines across elongated, atmospheric compositions. The music evokes comparisons to Kyuss and Melvins, creating a cosmic, mid-tempo vibe that can feel immersive yet sometimes leaves a sense of an incomplete step. A solid listen for fans of alternative and psychedelic blues rock.
