Eduardo De Filippo (1900–1984) was an Italian actor, playwright and screenwriter, author of major Neapolitan plays such as Natale in Casa Cupiello and Filumena Marturano.

Born in Naples (24 May 1900) and died 31 October 1984. Brother of Peppino and Titina De Filippo. Founder and leading figure of the family theatrical company (Teatro umoristico I De Filippo). Known for plays written and performed in Neapolitan dialect and for a career as an actor and dramatist across much of the 20th century.

A close reading of Natale in Casa Cupiello traces the play's evolution across versions and highlights Luca Cupiello as Eduardo's central creation. The reviewer praises Eduardo's dramaturgy and moral vision while questioning the emotional excess of the later (third-act) ending. Overall, the review treats Eduardo as a builder of lucid, politically aware dreams.

I too, in my own small way and for whatever it may matter, once dealt with Luca Cupiello.
