THE REVIEW

"La mia città" is a single by Edoardo Bennato released in 2011 and published by Ultrasuoni. This is a very productive period for the singer-songwriter and architect from Bagnoli, who in 2010 kept himself busy by releasing an album of new songs, "Le vie del rock sono infinite", and the live "Mtv classic storytellers" for Universal, where he duets old and new hits with other artists, and from which a duet single with Morgan was released. Also in that year, he released an unreleased track titled "La sapienza" exclusively for YouTube users, which was later included in the DVD "Canzoni tour 2011", published by Cheyenne Record and recorded at "The place" in Rome.

In 2011, after all these achievements, news arrives about a new album in the works, with 30 new songs, and this single is released by Ultrasuoni, the record company that brought Modà to the public's attention and is owned by Rtl 102.5, Radio Italia, and Rds.

The song is presented as yet another cry of love from the singer-songwriter for his beloved Naples, which, as the lyrics also proclaim, is "amara-ammaliante-miracolata-irriverente", both a blessing and a curse of the beautiful country.

The piece is very rock, with very pronounced harmonica and electric guitars, along with very pleasant string sections and very captivating electronics. The track is still featured in his live performances, on YouTube (Rtl.102.5 channel), and on iTunes although the album was never released.
