Edie Brickell (born 1966) is an American singer-songwriter from Texas, known as lead singer of Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians and for the 1988 hit "What I Am."

Brickell rose to fame with the 1988 album Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars (with Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians). Solo albums include Picture Perfect Morning (1994) and Volcano (2003). She married musician Paul Simon (1992). The New Bohemians returned with Stranger Things (2006).

DeBaser's review of Picture Perfect Morning presents Edie Brickell as a mature folk-oriented solo artist. The album (1994) is produced by Paul Simon and emphasizes acoustic rock and sober arrangements. The review notes loss of some early freshness but praises strong production and honest songwriting. Recommended for morning listening.
