The career of Eco del Baratro begins with a truly self-produced album. The band is young and resides in Trentino Alto Adige, if I'm not mistaken, and is now trying to promote themselves with this "Caro Estinto," officially released in the summer of 2010.

The band from Trentino offers a completely alternative rock and, to be honest, a bit psychedelic and erratic composed of guitar dissonances that could be quite annoying to those who aren't fans of the genre, intersecting voices on which the trio should give a good tweak for their future works. In fact, the second voice doesn't always fit well with the context, and the first voice, as it's recorded, almost seems live. However, the latter manages to range well between a full-bodied clean and screams that make Eco del Baratro's proposal original. Not bad work on the four strings and drums.

Unfortunately, the band also has to cope with a not-so-great production that perhaps detracts from the good skills the three guys demonstrate to have, but on which they will have to work more in the future during the track drafting step, as sometimes they face abrupt stops during listening, risking creating some perplexity for the listener. This is the case, for example, with "Assalto alla Baionetta," while the album peaks right at the start with the first three: "Ballo Selvatico," "La Spia Lampeggia la riserva non perdona," and "All'altezza dello Sterno," although the gem remains "Ti Ascolto," with its downtuned sounds and a beautifully pounding bass.

Perhaps a few more changes wouldn't have hurt, but in its 10 songs "Caro Estinto" still manages to deliver great musical moments and give a good impression of this Italian band, until now, little known. If you like alternative rock, grunge, and a certain rock with a depressive-anxious style, give this album a chance!
