LA RECENSIONE

The high school literature teacher once told me: "once you point out that it is shoegaze, there's no need to specify that there are ethereal reverberations, fuzz, reverse, and nods to My Bloody Valentine, because otherwise, you would fall into the classic error of tautology."

Remembering her teachings, I'll just add: debut EP, six songs, twenty-two minutes; Slumberland, synonymous with quality in the world of shoes and those who look at them, and to guarantee I will at least put Black Tambourine; year twenty-ten, London; the voice of a former alto chorister of (Bi)Linda Jarvis, which may not be like Elizabeth Fraser's but is truly graceful and pleasant, and it splits - magic - often into very bilindian harmonizations; speaking of the Cocteau Twins, the title track of the EP is the closest thing; the pam pam pa-tum pa-tum pam pam of I Am the Resurrection, the riff of I Wanna Be Adored, and the reverse of Don't Stop, in the nice opening track, remind us that the Stone Roses always live on.

Straight shoegaze that prefers enchantment to bite, few digressions and many song forms among the best you can find on this side of the Atlantic.
