It seems that Eagles of Death Metal is a happy little island for the seminal Josh Homme: his main band, those Queens Of The Stone Age capable of producing a masterpiece like "Songs For the Deaf" back in 2002, seems to have lost that untouchable group status that everyone recognized them with after their latest not-so-exciting studio releases. Now, the good singer-guitarist (and here drummer) with the red mane has no choice but to fall into the arms of his childhood friend Jesse Hughes to be able to show his true cheeky grin once again.

Because it's for this hedonistic purpose that the EODM were put together by this ragtag duo. Their objective is simple: talk about light little stories that almost always lead to the same thing, namely pussy; pussy and everything that surrounds it: therefore, dancy approaches, winking language, various types of booty shaking, all naturally seasoned with the use of some small drugs and a good refreshing cocktail in hand.

Consequently, let's not be too surprised if the mustachioed singer with a falsetto voice in "(I Use To Couldn't Dance Good)Tight Pants" explains, for example, his evolution from a kid paralyzed at the mere idea of dancing to a real Casanova in the dance hall, able to flaunt a pair of tight pants (ugh!)!

This is the (non)message that the EODM want to send us: every so often, turn off your brain, forget the thousand responsibilities life imposes on you and let yourself go to the wildest fun (see "Secret Plans" or the title track "Heart On").

But behind all this carefree approach lie the figures of two musicians who have always chewed music and who know exactly what they want to do with it, because for every childish chorus, they respond for example with a perfectly timed guitar solo or with a punctual and expert drum roll (for example in the beautiful "Cheap Thrills")... in short, at first listen everything may seem all too simple and predictable (and therefore perhaps a bit boring) as in "Wannabe In L.A.", but pay attention to these two oddballs and they will reward you with melodies that will stamp into your gray matter.

Personally, I found the conclusion "I'm Your Torpedo", a song with a programmatic title that, with its minimal drums and low-fi sounds, is practically irresistible, able to make even the most awkward nerd sway their hips.

In short, absolutely recommended listening for anyone, whether fun is your raison d'être, or if you feel crushed and oppressed by life... it will be a godsend!
