A masterpiece of Brutal Death. This is "Destroy The Opposition".

The legendary Dying Fetus, who had already devastated thousands of eardrums with "Killing On Adrenaline", in 2000 gift us with this "Destroy The Opposition". The American band, formed in 1991, is dedicated to a brutal death mixed with grind and hardcore sounds, yet always faithful to the masters of the genre, Suffocation.

From both the lyrical and musical perspective, we find great compositional maturity in this album, with lyrics dealing more or less with political themes or those close to social issues, such as an attack on the damn music business. The guitar riffs range from simple hardcore to more complicated riffs in full brutal style, with extensive use of harmonics or tapping, even by the bass. The drummer churns out truly original tempos, both fast and slow, while the vocals alternate from the angrier and biting growl of Jason Netherton, bass and vocals, who often turns to scream, to the dirtier and lower voice of John Gallagher, guitar/vocals, the true mastermind of the band.

The 8 tracks of the album, despite being around 4/5 minutes long, never tire and the destructive atmosphere flows throughout the entire duration of this great album. The solos in Born In Sodom and Epidemic Of Hate are truly incredible, where the two guitarists combine speed and violence with technique and melody. No song in this album is the same as the others, all present different characteristics, such as the choice of riffs or the speed of the piece itself. Dying Fetus have become a reality in the brutal scene also for their great live performances, where the four great musicians give their best, creating the wall of sound that distinguishes them. Their new album, War Of Attrition, has also been released recently.

In short, a band that deserves recognition, with their own musical characteristics, a symbol for the entire Brutal Death Metal genre itself.
