Dutch Nazari is not like other rappers. Sure, the environment he frequents is the same, from freestyle competitions as a young man to signing with Dragen D'Amico's label. But Duccio is exactly the opposite of the clichés we usually use to describe a rapper. Many call him a singer-songwriter. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. This guy from Padua finds himself exactly in the middle, on one side the singer-songwriter world, on the other rap. But Dutch doesn't care much about the labels people attach to him and lets his music speak for itself, as it should be. Amore povero is not an album of sugary love songs composed for a hypothetical 'her'; in fact, thanks to excellent writing, it never degenerates into the banal, nor into horrible clichés, narrating different aspects of life, starting from a social condemnation of people's superficiality, moving through simple situations that can mark any of us, like quitting smoking. Dutch reminds us how important words are and how they should be used in the best possible way. A bit like he does, as he tells us about the ups and downs of his life to the music of the talented Sick & Simpliciter, sometimes rapping, sometimes singing, sometimes just speaking, all with extreme elegance, almost like a gentleman who has decided to open the doors of his world to help us fully understand it, using a very simple and direct manner, yet at the same time refined and elegant.
