An elephant in the grip of hallucinations.

This is the spiritual manifesto of Dumbo Gets Mad, the project of Italian Lucas Dumbini, who emigrated overseas to Los Angeles. "Quantum Leap", the second full-length work from DGM, is a colorful sonic kaleidoscope that, starting from a clear pop vision of psychedelia, always far from being acidic or delirious, manages to touch seemingly distant territories like funk, electronic, soul, ethnic music, dance and, in some ways, old school rap.

All played using analog instruments and tape recorders, with a vintage production that is never forcibly revivalist and a measured alternation between the male and female voices (the sentimental and artistic counterpart of the group's leader), used in falsetto or appropriately filtered, similarly to what Marco Fasolo did with his Jennifer Gentle.

An album pervaded by positive vibes, refined atmospheres, and a lot of groove, undeniable sixties-seventies influences, exotic elements, and cosmic overtones. World music sui generis with Venice Beach at heart and the mind in many other geographical and musical places around the globe.
