The identity of the Dual Purpose project is still a topic of debate today, but it is most likely another manifestation of the 'anonymous is beautiful' philosophy branded Gescom. And the equally ambiguous label, 30mil Recordings, judging by the Gescom logo on side B, is nothing more than a subdivision of Skam.
Mysteries aside, we are talking once again about an excellent 12'', starting with the sensational "Hobs" which sounds like how hip hop would sound in about fifty years, with harsh industrialism taking the place of scratches and a bass so impressive that even the most intoxicated RZA couldn't match it. Definitely less futuristic, "ANX9i" is a neurotic IDM piece with more than one nod to "Tri Repetae"; "Minx" dares with signaloid tones, dirty noise, and precise and mechanical rhythms once again reminiscent of '90s Autechre, while "Minxed" is the masterpiece of the EP, as well as one of the most glorious moments of the entire Gescom testament. It is a symphony for glitch and flanger in free form, floating in nothingness, practically an Anthony Braxton on max-msp. As far as I'm concerned, this track is worth the whole EP.
