LA RECENSIONE

Classic Heavy Metal with German Power influences, this is what emerged from the minds of Fil Ronzulli and company, in their first work Victim of Fate. As per heavy-power tradition, this demo includes 16th notes on drums at 120 bpm and epic triplets, without overdoing it, to not make the listener hate the double bass pedal. It should definitely be noted that the recording was budget-friendly, hence the sound quality of the drums leaves a bit to be desired, but nothing unlistenable. In fact, the mixing is more than decent and there are never any parts played out of time. Examining the album, I can only start with the cover; honestly, it doesn't drive me crazy, I prefer those with bikes and semi-nude women, but overall it's not bad, as it ties in well with the first track of the album. Unicorn's Blood: definitely the best track of "Victim of Fate", starts with a short 20-second intro, where you hear a woman's singing in a scenario of thunder and rain, the ears are already relaxed and ready for a ballad when the electric guitar starts, with a very fast riff that introduces the piece with extremely fast tempos (for this genre). In some points, you can hear very pleasant keyboard riffs with certainly very high technical difficulty, in fact, the band immediately shows mastery of great individual and collective technique, without boring with overly long solos. The second piece is titled "The Erotic Nightmare", a beautiful song that alternates between keyboards and engaging riffs, based on spot-on time changes, noteworthy is the (never banal) piano and bass accompaniment in the guitar solo part. The third track is titled "Fuel on the Fire", a classic Heavy Metal piece in Motorhead style, with a very catchy chorus and a fierce and powerful solo. The fourth track of this demo is titled "Born in Hell" (with which a video was also shot, available on their website), a very pleasant song, with extremely enjoyable double guitar riffs with engaging pre-chorus and chorus. The fifth and final piece "Even Soul Can Fly", a classic metal gallop, with a beautiful choir in the chorus, unfortunately does not compare well with the first 4 tracks and perhaps for this reason, the piece is placed at the end of the demo.

Definitely a good demo, at times really engaging, very well played, especially by the versatile guitarist-keyboardist Carmine Ronzulli, with a very powerful and precise drum, and a voice in English, gritty and fierce. With a professional recording and further technical improvements, they could aim for much higher scores. Well done Drop of Madness!!!
