Drexciya were an electronic music duo from Detroit (Gerald Donald and James Stinson) active in the 1990s and early 2000s, known for a distinctive electro/techno sound and a conceptual aquatic mythology.

Associated with the Detroit electronic scene; developed an aquatic/underwater mythos as the conceptual basis for many releases; music blends electro, techno and funk influences.

Two DeBaser reviews celebrate Drexciya's aquatic concept and electronic sound. Neptune's Lair is described as an immersive underwater journey; Grava 4 is framed as high-tech, spiritual funk. Both reviews are strongly positive and emphasize atmosphere and myth.

For:Fans of electro/electronic and techno, listeners who enjoy conceptual, atmospheric albums and Afrofuturist themes.

Or maybe just funk shit shot into orbit, the high-tech spiritual soul made in Drexciya launched towards the unknown, a profane and physical unknown, celestial and transcendent.

In short, if you already have gills from spending so much time in the pool or if you like to lie with your eyes closed at the bottom of the tub, this album offers you the atmospheres you seek, dive in and you won't want to return to the surface.
