For the umpteenth time, I return to the mythical musical realm of progressive rock and specifically Krautrock. Who among you remembers "Yatha Sidhra"? Obviously, almost nobody.

"Yatha Sidhra" is a legendary German prog band that in the early '70s (specifically, 1974) released the only phenomenal work "A Meditation Mass". "A Meditation Mass" is a very strange concept album but at the same time fabulously mystical. Considered an invaluable record by collectors, it represents: a perfect blend of virtuosic rock, space & psychedelic prog, jazz fusion, cosmic, and indie rock for meditative purposes. Correlated with Indian atmospheres, the sound somewhat recalls: "Tangerine Dream", "Pink Floyd", "Nektar", "Eloy", "Quintessence", and "Don Robertson". Unobtainable as a vinyl, it was reissued on CD by a German record label and nowadays it can be found in stores, albeit with difficulty.

But perhaps no one knows that a legendary record like this has a successor even though it's far inferior! This is "On Flight To The Light" by "Dreamworld". But who are "Dreamworld"? It turns out that behind this innocent name hide the brilliant minds of "Yatha Sidhra": Rolf and Klaus Fichter, who alone make an orchestra (guitar, electric bass, keyboard, synthesizer, sitar, drums, etc.). The tracks that make up the suite are 4, totaling about 38 minutes, and they are: "Ways Of Love", "Beneath Silence And Storm", "Summerdays", and "Dreamworld's Symphony". Listening to it, one travels through multiple sound paths characterized by a single purpose that is the love for life: innocent, charming, and relaxing, it is undoubtedly a sweet backdrop to your intimacy!

But it is also true that this work was a big disappointment for me, for many reasons which I will list for you now:

1 - Released in 1980, it is more akin to a chill out work than a prog rock project. 2 - The music, although well played, seems to me very cold and therefore lacks emotion. 3 - The vocal parts are bland, typical of the German pronunciation. 4 - The transitions from one rhythm to another seem to me poorly executed and therefore everything is rather non-cerebral.

All in all, it is a good album even if it lacks the greatest virtue of "A Meditation Mass". What is it? Simply because it is not MAGICAL!!!
