THE REVIEW

This time I'm ahead of schedule; these quarantine days at home, glued to the couch watching Sundays pass by every day, allow me to listen to kilograms of music and explore the darkest corners of the web, thoroughly and not end up, as usual, in a venous block.
I dig and delve deeper, finding a Northern Irish band that seems very young and has everything needed to tickle my fancy.

We're riding the wave of Black Midi, Black Country New Road, Squid, a multifaceted art rock/punk; there are noise rock outbursts and mathematical anxiety (Autofac, Medic), then there are throwbacks to these bands ranging from Tool-like nu-metal (Broken Fingers Crossed, Nosedive) to the unexpected ambient drone ('75, PA).

Dreamreading adds an extra push to this quest, with more frequent classic progressive elements mixed with an indie/emo soul (Waterwings) and some pad synth interludes (downlands) that recreate dream-like atmospheres, even venturing into post-rock territory (Marauder).

This art revolution is truly intriguing and must be followed with great attention not to miss any minor evolution, hoping it changes the face of this pop.
