Let me make one thing clear: if you stop at a first, disinterested listen, all those "nigger", "fuck ya", "the party", and the like, might make you lose the desire to continue and listen to all twenty tracks of this work.

Do as I did then: I went on and, without any presumption, I tried to grasp every valid element present in the tracks I listened to and gradually something worthwhile emerged. If we want to adorn ourselves with stupid sophisms, the sounds, although updated, sound very west-coast and this is not, however, a note of demerit. We're talking about hip-hop without major hang-ups, very "atmospheric", with sampled rhythms and, at the same time, very effective.

In the end, when the last track comes to a close, you are not tired/satisfied but, on the contrary, something remains with you; true, it is scattered here and there and, perhaps, difficult to discern at first listen, but something strong remains. "Yes, but tell us more," you might demand. "Alright," I reply, go and look: in the melodic impact of the opener "Over My Dead Body", or in the sounds enriched by Drake's protégé, namely The Weeknd, in "Crew Love", or in the title track enriched by Rihanna's voice. Also look for the sampled guitar riff in "Under Ground Kings" or the gospel of "Lord Knows".

Search and you will not be disappointed.
