"Tristemente felici," so describes the magazine Rolling Stone the duo Donvito and Veleno, an indie-rock duo formed by Max Stirner (alias of Emanuele Fusaroli, a well-known figure in our local indie scene. Musician and producer, collaborator in various roles with: Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Teatro Degli Orrori, One Dimensional Man, Redwormsfarm, Bugo, Sodastream) and Jack Tormenta.

The duo brought to life "Hell Mundo", an album with indie sounds supported by a drum machine.

The work consists of 10 tracks, respectively: "Io te e le balene," "Direzione inferno," "Molto meglio ora," "Disilluso e leggero," "Tra Canada e Messico," "Il macabro rito del Sati," "La logica dello stupefacente," "Ogni veleno," "Tutto dipende da te," and "Hell Mundo".

The logical thread that connects all the tracks is our dramatic era, described with extreme cynicism in the wonderful "Disilluso e leggero" but also with great passion as in "Hell Mundo"; the lyrics are therefore the strengths of this work, decidedly well-curated and never trivial, dealing with themes that are more current than ever today, such as wars and the ecological destruction of our planet.

As for the instrumental part, the bases as previously mentioned are entrusted to a drum machine (which is Donvito), while Maxi Stirner takes care of the bass and the voice, and Jack Tormenta is dedicated to the guitar, resulting in a quality electropop sound.

The standout tracks of this album are practically all due to their great meaning, but I will try to provide a brief summary of the best ones:

"Direzione Inferno," a beautiful song with dub influences that speaks about how our planet is on a no-return path towards the end... towards hell!

"Molto meglio ora," the quintessential single, introduced by an electronic guitar loop, where it is explained that the only way to survive nowadays is indifference towards others.

"Disilluso e leggero," probably the song that will be listened to the most on this album, a fantastic melodic acoustic piece accompanied by a fascinating text, seemingly a simple song; nothing could be more wrong, as it encapsulates much of the thought and meaning of this CD.

"Hell Mundo," rebellion, yes rebellion is the only solution according to Donvito and Veleno, the only way to save this planet and ourselves. A decidedly electronic track with a psychedelic spirit due to its structure.

Hell Mundo is an excellent work that brings a breath of fresh air to the Italian indie world, where each track is not an end in itself.

"Tristemente felici"? No... "Felicemente incazzati."
