Doctor Nerve is an American avant-rock ensemble associated with algorithmic composition and led by guitarist/composer Nick Didkovsky. Their compilation Armed Observation / Out To Bomb Fresh Kings collects early EP material and was released on Cuneiform.

The group's early EPs date from 1985 and 1987; a 1992 Cuneiform release collected the first two EPs. Nick Didkovsky developed the Java Music Specification Language (JMSL) and used algorithmic composition systems in Doctor Nerve. Fred Frith is credited as a producer on one of the early releases (as reported in the review).
