THE REVIEW

I am about to review one of my greatest disappointments in the musical field. I have always admired Dismember, who nonetheless were one of the founding bands of the Death Metal movement, and with their raw and "thrashy" style, they were unfortunately an underrated reality of the genre.

This CD's cover inspired me a lot, indeed, I might be childish and foolish, but to me, a cover featuring a giant robot with chainsaw arms shooting missiles on a field of skulls is a symbol of quality, or at least of anger. Indeed, this album is angry, but that's not enough. The first track I Saw Them Die begins with a slow and raw riff, which I could understand since this is Raw Death Metal. However, this album is extremely flat, devoid of truly noteworthy ideas, melodic solos aren't enough, and above all, the terrible screams of the singer are rather irritating.

Don't get me wrong, I have always liked the primordial and raw growl of the vocalist, but in this album, he doesn't use it, he just yells in a dull and ignorant way, filling the entire album with boredom, as it seems like he’s always saying the same things, in the same tone of voice. Frankly, I think this album was hurriedly made, with raw production and not excellently done. The riffs are all almost identical and repeat endlessly, in short, it is significantly inferior compared to many of the band's works.

I don't have much to say about this album because unfortunately, it told me nothing, an angry but inconsistent album.

You can tell they have fun playing this music. Music made to break everything and nothing more without any pretense of seriousness.

Songs like “On Frozen Fields” and “Collection of Blood” are small masterpieces that will make the blood boil for anyone infected by the rabid plague of heavy metal.
